Bio Oil for scars and stretch marks

Now here's honesty for you!.. I have struggled with my weight on and off for years. I was a very slim child and when I turned 11 I SHOT up in height and was 5"10! This, combined with puberty and putting on weight meant that I got stretch marks unfortunately.

I have heard that they are hereditary however my Mum doesn't have one! and she has 2 children and is 68.. yes, i hate her! lol.. my Dad however, does have stretch marks but was obese his whole life ( until he lost 19st after gastric by-pass surgery 4yrs ago).. yes hate him too! LOL..so it might be an old wives tale..

My stretch marks are on my stomach, hips, breasts and upper thighs..wow, I'm sounding so attractive here lol.. luckily they have faded over the years which leaves a silvery line as opposed to a more pink/red scar when they first appear.

Because I yo yo diet I still get red ones appearing..which is my own fault..but over the years I have used many products to help them fade..

Yes this is my stomach, although looks like I have an alien growing inside me with a bump? I have no idea what that is about but you can see clearly the silvery lines and darker pinker ones at the end where the skin has stretched of late..

I have found that Bio Oil really works in terms of fading new pink lines that appear:

I go the whole hog and buy the large 200ml bottles.. now, they are not cheap!.. this bottle costs £19.99!.. You can buy smaller bottles though, and they come in 60ml, 125ml also..they are available in Boots and Superdrug here in the UK.

Bio-Oil is designed to be massaged into your skin on a daily basis to reduce the appearance of uneven textured skin and is specially formulated for:
  • Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Uneven Skin Tone
  • Ageing Skin
  • Dehydrated Skin.

The breakthrough ingredient in Bio-Oil is PurCellin Oil and I use it on my face and body and any skin type can use it thankfully.. However I do find that on the face it can block your pores and make you break out if you have oily skin anyway.

It contains:
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin E
  • Calendula Oil
  • Lavender Oil
  • Rosemary Oil
  • Chamomile Oil
  • and has NO preservatives.

It does absorb really well into the skin and I am using it currently every night on my left wrist Kienbocks Disease scar to keep it smooth, hydrated and reduce its appearance over time.

The liquid is a pinky orange toned colour and definitely has a pleasant fragrance to it, I can definitely smell the lavender, calendula and rosemary oil!

I also use Palmers cocoa butter in solid form in a jar also availbe from Boots and Superdrug for between £2.99-£3.50 depending on offers..

It does work well too but not as good as the Bio oil and I tend to use this for drier areas on my body such as my heels, elbows and hands..but it too does help in stretch mark fading for sure!
I recommend if you do suffer from any of the above conditions to purchase yourself a small bottle of Bio Oil to test out as I do think it works although, like cellulite nothing will fully rid your body of scars and stretch marks unfortunately ladies.. ENJOY! xx

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Hey peoples!...So..are you like me and cannot resit changing your nail polish every other day... yes I know its not good for your nails but I get bored really easily and as my collection grows I want to use all the colours Ive bought!!..the only downside to this is smelly horrid nail polish remover that  takes forever to work!.. I have tried all different types, the pads with oils which are cool but a bit messy.. and of course your bog standard remover used with cotton wool...

I have recently become a major fan of the brand Bourjois..available in Boots and Superdrug.. I love their cosmetic range and I was thrilled to pick up their new "Magic Nail Polish Remover"

It comes in a 75ml cute pink plastic round bottle and is priced at £4.99.. It claims to "Instantly removes nail polish. 1 second per nail*, without cotton wool!" which is kind of true lol...

I usually put a base coat on my nails, then 2-3 coats of my chosen colour, then a top coat.. so I can have 4-5 coats on my nails at any given time..and usually this will take a good few mins on each nail to remove.. I was very impressed when i immerced my nail in the sponge and did the "dip and twist" motion a couple of times, pulled out and it was nearly gone.. I did this maybe 3 times for a few seconds each go and my polish was all gone! HURRAH!..so I dont think its accurate to claim is takes 1 second.. more 10-20 but who the hell cares thats still ULTRA quick!

It says that is:

- Acetone-free formula - gentle on nails and cuticles

- Enriched with nourishing sweet almond oil
- Paraben-free
- Dermatologically tested

The oil residue left after you "dip and twist" is actually lovely, as when I use normal liquid polish my nails feel dry and brittle where as with this product they have a moisturised appearance which is fantastic.

This nail polish remover is AWESOME and I urge you all to go out and buy it as it really a "miracle remover" and no hassle to use! ENJOY!  xx

Models Own Nail Polish in Utopia

I was debating whether or not to buy my first "nude" polish... Hmm..never really considered  nudey colour to wear on my nails as thought whats the point lol..but after a few tweets and some reccomendations I decided to buy one.. I went for Models Own Utopia!

This shade is hard to describe as its pastel eggshell with hints of grey and mauve...But I loved it! and found it to really look lovely.

Its a fun colour and lovely for spring..I may now purchase more nude shades to add to my collection..

Models Own Nail polish in Lilac Dream

So, as I was awaiting the arrival of the Essie Stand in Boots/Superdrug I came across Models Own..which Id seen loads but never bought..So I thought why not.. I was thrilled to find Lilac Dream

Its a soft pastel lilac shade and I adore it.. I HATE the lid and brush of models own polishes however.. The brushes are thin and the lis very rounded and bulky so it gives a feeling of not being in control of the brush movement when I paint with them.. I am willing to overlook this though as I love this colour and with only 2 coats needed its worth it...

Essie Nail Polish Mint Candy Apple

So.... I was on an Essie kick and couldn't resist buying the infamous Mint Candy Apple Its a delicious creme de menthe mint shade, sometimes looking more green, other times blue.. I think it all depends on the lighting..It looks more blueish in my video and pics definitely...But a lovely spring time colour which can be enjoyed  by all! x

Essie Nail Polish in Bahama Mama

Hi guys! so sorry I haven't posted in bloody ages... I'm recovering at my folks place at the moment from surgery so typing kills me as I have Kienbocks disease in my left wrist...( if your interested whatthe hell that is then look here lol http://darkerblue.kienbock.com/ )and makes texting, typing etc etc HURT!! anyway Im moaning on... I recently have become nail polish crazy and am thrilled that Boots and larger superdrugs now sell Essie polishes!! Hurrah!...

Thought I`d do some posts on a few nail polishes I got recently,

The 1st is Essie Bahama Mama!

Its a gorgeous warm, rich, creamy deep plum colour and is utterly gorgeous..

I love the width of the Essie nails polish brushes, they seem to glide on so easily and have no foul odour.  I bought it in Boots for 7.99 and I adore it.. Admittedly its not a spring colour, more for winter and Christmas time..but I love my deep reds plums and purples so for me its a winner!...Short video below! x

Spring nail polishes Jade and Peach!

Hello my fellow nail polish fans..at least I hope some of you are..I must admit I'm not a massive lover of lighter pastel shades..hence why my collection is full of deep reds, dark purples, browns, and in general darker toned polishes..however I think I may have been converted when I recently took a chance and bought a couple of bright seasonal shades for spring.

With sooo many colours and brands to choose from so I went armed with peach and mint shades in mind so I wouldn't be standing in Boots/Superdrug for 2hours making my mind up! lol..this helped a lot as I was pretty overwhelmed by all the choices.

In the end I purchased from one me my favorite brands Barry M in one of their newer shades called "Peach Melba NP318"

The Barry M nail paints are fantastic anyway and I think I own at least 5 others so I wasn't surprised by the great pigmentation and ease of this colour. Its a matte salmony peachy coraly colour yes everything with a "y" at the end lol..as I cant decide on a distinct description. All I know is its lovely and for someone who doesn't usually feel comfortable wearing lighter shades this one doesn't freak me out!!..I needed to apply 2 coats to get a thick even coverage..and I'm really happy with the results. It is available alongside all other Barry M products from Superdrug for the ridiculously low price of 2.99!!!!

The other colour I got was indeed a minty green - L'oreal Color Riche nail polish in shade "602 Perlede Jade"

Its a lovely matte colour, very easy to apply, no shimmer or chalkyness. It comes in a tiny 5ml bottle which is actually kinda cute and I have to say it looks lovely on the nails. My picture makes it looks more greeny, I think it depends on the light as sometimes it can look turquoise, then green, then blue. Either way its a delicious colour choice and I love wearing it!...I paid 4.99 for it from Boots!
So ladies I'm sure there are a million other spring shades to chose from and I may be tempted very soon but in the meantime I'm enjoying my mint and peach hehe... Till next time xx

Barry M Lip Gloss Wands

I love Barry M as a brand and we are so lucky to have them in both Boots and Superdrug here in the UK. Their stuff is high quality and affordable and so I thought I would splash out and buy 4 of their Lip Gloss Wands..they are priced at £4.49 each and come in 14 shimmering and sparkling shades each one deliciously infused with an irresistible scent that is true to its name!..

L-R 5 Bubblegum Pink, 12 Strawberry Milkshake, 11 Coral, 2 Toffee

I cannot tell you how much I adore both the shades and scents.. each one literally smells of what it says on the tin, ( or tube in these cases lol )..Bubblegum Pink smells of original Hubba Bubba!! YES! I know. truly it does and if u liked it you will be addicted to this gloss..The Strawberry Milkshake Literally tastes of McDonald's strawberry milkshake and so on... they are lush lush lush.. not to sticky, not to sheer.. just perfect! Here are some swatches below:

Same order as above - without flash

With flash

They really are fabulous and I fully recommend going out and buyig some, the packaging is lovely and solid not to heavy and certainly not cheap looking. A standard doe foot aplicator is your tool for application..They are great lip glosses!

DIY Galaxy Nails

After desperately trying to grow my nails out again I decided they had got to a point where actual polish wouldn't look ridiculous on them lol.. My left hand nails have grown a lot since I had my kienbocks disease surgery ironiclly.

Anyway, I digress.. I am aware of the latest craze being "Caviar Nails".. little balls stuck to your varnish, and well, can I be honest here and say that it just does NOT appeal to me at all. The thoughts of having little balls jumping off my nails all the time into my food, products etc isn't attractive to me.. But galaxies are! I love the blending of pinks, purples, blues and stars meshed together and when I discovered I could create this effect on my nails I was sold!!!!!!!!!! Here is the result!

Ive always been obsessed with Galaxy desktops and mobile backgrounds like below:

I have so many pics in windows picture galaxy and I wanted to recreate this on my nails!..

All you need are a few things, now granted I did my first try with random polishes I have in my collection and I may add a few different colours next time.. but this being my first time I used the following:

  1. Mua Shade 3 Black
  2. NYC 115 Ink Stain Dark Blue
  3. W7 Envy Blue/Green Shimmer
  4. NYC 246 Park Ave
  5. W7 Pink Rasberry
  6. Rimmel Disco Ball
  7. Claires Cosmetics unnamed Chunky Glitter
In theory you should only need 1 blue shimmer but I didn't have one :( I used a cheap round cosmetic sponge to dab the polish onto my fingers..

  1. Apply a coat of black nail polish to each finger and wait till dry
  2. Take a Blue/Greeny Shimmery polish and dip a bit on the corner of the sponge, and tap/dab in various places on the nail
  3. Do the same with the grey/brown and then repeat with the pink
  4. Then apply a very glittery polish to nails which MAKES the look!
  5. Optional to add a chunky glitter with little round flecks to act as stars
The final result should look like this:

Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Moisture Balms

Do you love lip balms like me?... I have used them for years, not just to help my chapped lips but I'm obsessed with the scent and taste...BUT.. I am picky.. so not all brands float my boat. Some are so sticky and sweet, others thin and watery with no scent..But I am thrilled to say I adore the new Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Moisture Balms!.. I have all 3 flavours, in fact I'm on my 2nd pot of Juicy Peach as Peach flavoured anything rocks my world.

L-R Chocolate Cherry, Sweet Coconut & Juicy Peach

They all have incredibly strong and delicious scents..the coconut literally takes of coconut and so on..They have a glossy shiny sheen to them, not to sticky, and slightly pigmented to leave a subtle tint to the lips. There are delicious I tell you! They are described by Soap & Glory as "a super fruit butter moisture balm that has been specially designed to protect and moisturise lips" and I thoroughly agree..

There are available to by here at Boots Buy here for £5 and worth every penny. I know I will keep repurchasing these as they are truly addictive.. Enjoy! x

OK ladies now I'm trying to control myself and not have a new makeup product over excited orgasm about these new items!... hmmmmmmmmmmm boy oh boy oh boy...

Well... u know Sleek brought out the Blush by 3 palettes.. Well, I did like them sort of..but felt the colour choices were sooooooo bright or sooooooo dark!!

I have to admit when I saw them I was thinking how I could customize one of them so that I would have a contour colour, blush and maybe a highlight type shade but alas this would of been an impossible task as none of the shades are those tones and depotting them wouldn't of beena royal pain in the you know what..

So... you can imagine my delight when my friend told me that Sleek will soon be releasing the Contour, Blush, Highlight palettes called "Face Form"

Check these out!!!

          These will be available in four shades;
  • Fair- Contouring powder, highlighting powder and Rose Gold Blush
  • Light- Contouring powder, highlighting powder and Rose Gold Blush

Needless to say I cannot bloody wait for these to come out and I'm thrilled sleek have realized that a Nars dupe is much needed... the Nars Blush /Bronzer/Highlight trio was in an awful zipped packaging as you can see below and was sooooo expensive..

So roll on Sleek and bring these bad boys out ASAP as I will glady pay 8.99 for them.. AMEN!

Revlon Lip Butters and Acrylic Lipstick Holder Woo Hoo!

So... I finally went to my local Boots and got my hands on 6 of the new Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters.. They come in 14 colours in the UK..so I chose the ones I thought would suit me..

Peach Parfait, Creme Brulee, Cotton Candy, Cupcake, Lollipop, Strawberry Shortcake

They are much better in consistency than I anticipated and supprisingly pigmented..I adore the packaging which come in quilted style different coloured lids and clear names written on the bottom.  They really are very beautiful and have a very high end look about them. The formula is very creamy and luxurious to the touch. There is no apparent smell which I like actually as some lipsticks like maybelline are overpowering.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter can be worn with or without Lipliner. They claim to smooth, soften and instantly hydrated lips! RRP: £7.99 you can but them on Boots online by clicking on this link: http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-ColorBurst-8482-Lip-Butter_1252852/

I also bought myself a couple of 12 slot lipstick holders from ebay. I got a real bargain as got them for £3 each! and Ive seen them advertised for over £12 each so am really chuffed with my purchases. They are clear acrylic and very sturdy!.. Awesome!

Strawberry Shortcake: Pink with blue undertones

Lollipop: Rich dark pink bit rasberry`ish

Cupcake: Light cool toned pink shimmer

Creme Brulee: toffee sheer neutral with shimmer

Cotton Candy: Pink with gold shimmer

Peach Parfait: Peachy coral gold shimmer

I wont be storing these near a sunny window however, as the butter like texture does have a tendency to melt. You do have to apply quite heavily and they don't last for a long time, But they are a combination of a gloss, balm and lipstick so this is understandable. I do like them.. Strawberry shortcake and Creme Brulee are my favourites!!.. And YES I did bloody well knock "Lollipop" on the corner of the lip hence the dent.. boohoo!
